I love being at Algonkian Elementary again this year. I look forward to working with all the students and staff. This is my thirteenth year at Algonkian. I am the Instructional Facilitator of Technology, or IFT. I have been in this field for seventeen years previously at Meadowland Elementary and Cedar Lane Elementary. I previously taught elementary school Kindergarten, first, and third grades in Fairfax County. I have my Masters in Curriculum Development in Educational Technology from George Mason University. I have lived in Ashburn, Virginia for twenty-two years with my husband and two sons.I look forward to helping students and staff integrate available technology into their Personalized Learning this year. Teachers and students get hands-on training and experience using one-to-one Chromebook devices to help better integrate technology into all parts of their learning and assist in student personalized learning, assessments and achievements. The Algonkian PTA has also supported us with funds to purchase a variety of programable robots, such as Ozobots, Dash robots, Spheros, and BeeBots and the iPads used to manage and program them. I bring Digital Citizenship lessons into the classroom as well as coaching teachers on how to integrate Computer Science standards into their regular curriculum. I forsee another fun year with the amazing Algonkian students.
