• The rumor is true, I am retiring at the end of this school year. It was a tough decision but time for me to devote myself to my church music program and my two perfect grandsons:) Giving up sharing music with these amazing students is very tough, but I know the timing is right. I appreciate more than words can say all the cards, letters, notes, gifts, and all forms of well-wishes and support I have received from so many of you! Thanks is not enough, but please know it is deeply heart-felt when I say THANKS. For everything.
CHOIRS - Your Graduation performance was simply stunning. I could not have asked for a more beautiful performance from you and I will keep that stored in my heart forever. Thank you for sharing the very best of yourselves in music with me that afternoon. SO powerful. And my best wishes go with our awesome 2016 graduates!!!
2016-2017 ENSEMBLES are posted under the side-tab articles. Choices were especially tough this year; 745 was especially hard to balance as we have fewer male voices in the group. Thank you all for such outstanding auditions - you each showed many great skills and it was impressive to listen to so much musically-smart singing.
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Alora Scofield and Caleb Rouse who are the new Choir Co-Presidents for 16-17!!! They will do an excellent job steering the department to new heights next year!!! We give one last round of applause to John and Charles for a job very well done in 15-16!!!
I am VERY happy to announce to all of you that Mr. Daniel Jackson will be the new Choral Director in the fall. He comes to us from out of state and will be moving to the area during the summer. He and I will work together to smooth the transition but I encourage you all to welcome him into the SBHS family with open arms! I definitely feel he is the right person to take SBHS Choir to the next level at this point in time. My congratulations to him and to all of you for much continued success. I look forward to enjoying outstanding performances when I pop in to visit next school year!
