PSAT DAY, WED., Oct 16th (THIS IS NOT SENIOR SKIP DAY)
In the past this has been considered “Senior Skip Day”. It is not. The senior’s day will begin in the cafeteria with a Chick Fil A Breakfast. They will then be dismissed to a three part round robin and will rotate through the stations based on last name. We have been working very hard on creating relevant activities for our Seniors. The round robin sessions are the following:
- GMU- Office of Resident Life: Presenters will talk about what to expect on move in day and answer any questions students may have about the transition to college life.
- Bank of Clark County: “The Banker Guy”: Presentation about Financial Literacy as it applies to young adults. Students covered many of these topics in Personal Finance but this is a refresher on some main topics and changed to be relevant to student no longer living at home.
- The SOS Signs of Suicide® Suicide Prevention Program: Dr. Theresa Lichtman, SBHS School Psychologist & Restorative Practices Facilitator and the SBHS Counseling Team will be presenting on this very important mental health issue. A letter is attached to this email that explains the program in great detail and well as “opt-out” information.
The Senior Activities will conclude at noon and students will be dismissed to lunch. The day will culminate with the highly anticipated Powder Puff Football Game. Seniors with early release will still be dismissed at 2:29.
