• Mrs. Patricia de Guzman
    Mrs. de Guzman has taught a variety of courses in many  places.  She has worked as an educator in  New York City, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tarrytown, NY,  and Natick, Massachusetts.
    She has taught  English,  ELL,  Psychology,  Social Studies, Humanities, Study Skills and SAT preparation.
    She has worked in Loudoun County at Park View High School, and she teaches English at NVCC.
    Mrs. de Guzman has  studied literature at Columbia University,  University of Massachusetts and Yale. She is a member of the Boston Writing Project and has participated in National Endowment for the Humanities Grants. She has recently completed  an advanced graduate program in the pedagogy of Composition. 
    Mrs. de Guzman began work and research in the  acquisition of a second language while living in Buenos Aires,  Argentina.  For many  years she has worked with  adults and younger students in the learning of English.   She brings to the Middle School  much  experience in all  levels of  English language  learning. She  is excited about working with the ELL department at Sterling Middle School.  In the academic  year  of 2018-2019 Mrs de Guzman will be teaching  US history in  6th and 7th  grade.  Her focus will be helping all students - especially ELL  students - learn  vocabulary, reading skills and the facts so important to the growth and maturing of our country, the USA.   
    She also  wants to help the students  with test  taking skills.
