Mrs. Juliet Finnegan

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Juliet Finnegan

I am excited to continue my journey in education as the new 8th grade Dean at Sterling Middle School. This will be my 14th year in education, with the first 5 years teaching in Fairfax County and the remaining years teaching Math in Sterling Middle School. Go Pioneers!

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and my Master's Degree in Teaching from The University of Virginia. Currently I am finishing up my Administration Program from Shenandoah University.

Prior to being a Dean I started my career in education as a 5th grade teacher for 4 years and a middle school math teacher for 1 year in Fairfax County. After having my 2 children I moved to Loudoun County Public Schools where I continued teaching Math for 8 years.  During my teaching years at Sterling Middle School, I was the Math 7 CLT leader, co-chaired the Schools to Watch redesignation process, lead various Professional Developments on Best Instructional Practices and chaired the PBIS data committee.

In addition to being a Dean, I am a wife to a fun-loving and supportive husband and a mom to 2 spirited and adventurous children, Avery- 7th grader at River Bend Middle School and Connor- 4th grader at Potowmack Elementary School. Our favorite vacation spot is the Outer Banks. One of my latest passions is Crossfit! I am excited to compete in my first Spartan Race with an amazing community of like-minded athletes.

It is a privilege to watch the students grow to be 21st century learners and continue their journey in being problem solvers, communicators and contributors connected to their community and authentic experiences.  I believe that with empathy, care and a growth mindset the sky is the limit!   I look forward to the experiences I will have this year as the Dean to the amazing 8th grade class!
