• Mr. Helstrom’s Classroom Rules

     

    During PE

     

    ·         Students are required to be in the locker room doors by the bell.  Take care of your business before class (i.e. – lockers, bathrooms, water)

    ·         Students will have 6 minutes in the locker room to change and should be seated on the locker room benches until dismissed by a teacher.  (Jewelry removed, shoes tied, and lockers secured with lock)

    ·         Students should be seated in their assigned squads for further instruction – roll call, warm-up, fitness, activity, cool down

    ·         Students are expected to give their best effort and participate fully in all activities.

    ·         At the conclusion of activity, students return to the locker room to change, secure their belongings, and be seated until dismissed by the teacher at the bell.

    ·         Students are not permitted to bring any food, drinks, or gum into the gym.

    ·         Students are expected to be prepared for every class by bringing their complete PE uniform, athletic shoes, socks, and agenda.

    ·         Be responsible by turning in your assignments on time.  Late assignments will cause your grade to drop.

    ·         Be Safe!!  Keep your hands to yourself.  Respect yourself and others, as well as, other’s belongings.

    ·         School rules apply during class at all times.

     

    During Health

     

    ·         Students need to be in the classroom by the bell.  Take care of your business before class (i.e. – lockers, bathrooms, water)

    ·         Students will have assigned seats and need to be in their seats during class.  At no time should a student get out of their seat unless given permission.

    ·         Students are expected to be prepared for class by bringing their agenda, a writing utensil, and paper.

    ·         Be responsible by turning in your assignments on time.  Late assignments will cause your grade to drop.

    ·         Be respectful to others and their belongings by keeping your hands to yourself, not talking while others are talking, raising your hand and waiting to be called upon, and not distracting others during class.

    ·         Change for class

    ·         Report to gym when directed for warm-up activity.

    ·         Fitness related activity

    ·         Main activity/lesson for the day

    ·         Cool down

    ·         Change for class

     

    During Health

     

    ·         Go over agenda for the day

    ·         Review previous class material

    ·         Addition of new material

    ·         Activity based lesson

    ·         Reflect upon the day’s work and look towards the next class

     

    Consequences

     

    ·         Individually addressed by teacher

    ·         Temporarily removed from class in a supervised area  and conference with teacher

    ·         Cool down pass with written reflection

    ·         Child/Teacher call home and classroom intervention form

    ** Students will be given two chances over a week’s time frame. After a second offense**

    students will be referred directly to the Dean.

    ·         When all else has failed begin to implement the PBIS flowchart.

    -      Classroom intervention report and call home.

    -      If there’s no improvement, report to the Dean with a Dean Intervention Report

    -      If behavior continues after Dean intervention report, complete a D report and turn in to the Dean, and call home.

    ·         If a level 2 incident occurs, a D report will be completed and the student referred directly to the Dean.
