    Marching Band

Participation in this program is voluntary. A student must be enrolled in one of the band classes or have special permission from the director in order to participate. The band rehearses for several weeks in August and then holds after school practices three-to-four times a week in the months of September, October and sometimes early November.  In addition to supporting the football team and other fall activities, our band competes as a high level across the region. Participation in events, performances and competitions is not optional.  Absolute commitment is required.  The Potomac Falls Marching Band has a long and proud history of championship quality performance. There are financial costs associated with participation. The Marching Band organizes in the Spring. Contact the director for details.

Jazz Ensemble, Brass Choir, Flute Choir, Indoor Drum Line, etc.

These groups are extensions of the band classes. In order to participate, a student must be enrolled in a band class or have special permission from the director to participate. Rehearsals are commonly during the week and occur for a specific season during the school year rather than year-round. There may be costs associated with participation. Groups may not form if limitations preclude making them a viable experience.

    Fall Guard

This group is part of the Marching Band program. Auditions are held in late Spring. Membership in a band class is not a requirement. Summer practices are flexibly scheduled. The August to November schedule coincides with the Marching Band schedule. See the Marching Band description for additional expectations and requirements. There is a cost associated with participation.

    Winter Guard

This program is a highly competitive ensemble that uses movement, flags, props and other equipment to present a precisely choreographed show. Auditions are held in late Autumn with practices beginning immediately thereafter. The season ends on the first weekend in April ("Championships Weekend"). There is a cost associated with participation.

Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic & Concert Bands
