Cathy L. Whitlow
I started my career in science as a basic research lab scientist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After 4 years of basic research on calcium pumps and other cell membrane mechanisms, I worked as a lab scientist at a contract lab supplying tissue cultures to researchers at the National Institutes of Health. I have been teaching biology for 30 years. I have been at PFHS since its opening in 1997!
I have a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Maryland, a secondary teaching certificate from George Mason University and a M.S in Biology from George Mason University.
I am also an adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College, Loudoun Campus since 2007 and an adjunct professor at George Mason University since 2018.
