Teacher Biography
Dr. Lillian Green is an educator and performer whose teaching experience includes K-12 institutions in Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, and Florida, as well as serving on the faculties of Friends University and Bethany College in Kansas. Her students have gone on to a variety of careers and musical endeavors, from becoming professional musicians and music educators, to playing recreationally in community orchestras, rock bands, and more.
Dr. Green holds a DMA in viola performance from the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Victoria Chiang; her other degrees include an MM in music theory pedagogy from Peabody, an MM in viola performance from the University of Delaware, and an undergraduate degree in music education from West Virginia University, where her emphases also included piano and violin. As a violist, she has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and alternative styles musician across the United States, as well as in Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, and Thailand.
