Mrs. Sherry Ann Puntai-Hay

Hello everyone!  I am very excited that I am at Trailside Middle this year!  I will be teaching Foundations of Algebra and Algebra 1. This is my 6th year teaching middle school.  Prior to that, I taught elementary school in the Caribbean (Trinidad) for 12 years and then worked as a Data Analyst for 9 years.  My undergraduate degree is in Computer Information Systems and my Masters degree is in Middle School Math Education.  

I love teaching Math and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with your children and to help them to cultivate a critical mindset.  I want them to know that math can be fun and with effort comes rewards.  I think it is very important to teach students to be good communicators and support them in their lifelong learning journey.  

On a personal note, I live in Leesburg with my husband and son.  We love traveling, spending time with family and friends, cooking and entertaining.
