Mrs. Chavara will be joining the ECSE team with ten years of experience teaching special education in Falls Church City Schools and Charles County Public Schools. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education at Clarion University (2013) and a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from Towson University (2017). Mrs. Chavara is originally from Pennsylvania and relocated in 2013 to begin her teaching career as a Special Education teacher at La Plata High School in La Plata, Maryland. She firmly believes that the success of her students starts with building relationships with them and their families. Mrs. Chavara strives to create a nurturing classroom and makes sure every child feels they are important. When she is not teaching, she enjoys going on walks, reading, and spending time with her husband and sweet goldendoodle named Soto.
