Mr. Tim Knappenberger

Mr. Knappenberger grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Bloomsburg University for his undergraduate degrees and Mississippi State for his masters degree.  He moved to Virginia in 2008 to start his professional teaching career at Colonial Beach High School, where he taught earth science, physical science and oceanography to 8th-12 graders.  In 2010, he was hired by Spotsylvania County where he taught earth science for 7 years and served as the science department chair for 3 years.

After the 2017 school year, Mr. Knappenberger decided to pursue a career as a Virginia State Park Law Enforcement Ranger.  While he enjoyed working in the park system, Mr. Knappenberger decided to leave the park service and go back to teaching.  This is his first year back in the classroom, and he is excited to be part of the Lightridge community.  When he is not in the classroom, you can find him working with the marching band, hiking a trail, bowling or traveling with his wife.
