Kelly Petru is thrilled to join Hillside Elementary School. As an educator for sixteen years, Kelly has had the opportunity to teach fourth grade in Ashburn, Virginia, and New Jersey, pre-kindergarten at Cape Cod Academy, third grade at Hillside and The Potomac School, second grade at Steuart Weller, and a variety of courses online like Storybook STEM and baking for Partners in Learning. Kelly taught students with dyslexia using Orton Gillingham and Wilson. She loves helping learners develop a love of reading. Kelly received her elementary education degree from Bucknell University and her master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, Kelly likes to travel with her family, exercise, bake, and read. She is excited to connect with her fourth graders for a fun-filled year of academic and social growth.
