Mrs. Bretcko

Hello! My name is Katherine Bretcko. I am thrilled to be BACK at Potowmack. I am one of the EL teachers at Potowmack and I will be working with Kindergarten students this year. This will be my 14^th year of teaching and 4th year as an EL Teacher. I have previously taught Kindergarten for 5 years in Fairfax County and 5 years in Loudoun County here at Potowmack. I then spent 3 years as an EL teacher right down the road at Sully Elementary in Loudoun. I have a passion for teaching and have wanted to be an educator as long as I can remember.

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA (Let’s Go PENS!), but have made Virginia my home for the last 14 years. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my daughters, family, and friends, walking the dog, reading, and crafting. I attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. I also have completed my certification for EL.
