Mrs. Heather Herr

Greetings, PMK Community!

I'm thrilled to introduce myself as one of the reading specialists here at PMK. This is my 13th year in education and I'm excited to begin this chapter with the LCPS family! 

I was born and raised in the small town of Indiana, Pennsylvania, where I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education and master’s degree in Literacy both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. As a firm believer in continuous learning, I went on to obtain a second master’s in Educational Leadership from George Mason University and achieved National Board Teacher Certification in literacy this past December! 

As a reading specialist, my mission is to empower students on their reading journeys. I'm deeply passionate about providing access and opportunity to all students by helping each child become a skilled and confident reader. High-quality instruction is key to nurturing every student's potential, and I'm looking forward to collaborating with our outstanding teachers to ensure that our students receive the exceptional education they deserve.

Outside of school, I enjoy relaxing with my husband and laughing at our crazy cat Buster! I enjoy staying active by taking walks and working out on the Peloton.
