The Park View High School Counseling Department provides a comprehensive developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, college/career and personal/social development of all students in a safe and confidential environment. Park View counselors advocate for all students, providing support to maximize student potential and academic achievement.

Ms. Kim - marie Brown
Director of Counseling
Ms. Kim-marie Brown is originally from Jamaica, and she immigrated to the United States when she was 12 years old. She earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Florida State University. After graduation, she worked at Refuge House, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Later she earned her Master's in School Counseling from Virginia Tech and then again returned to school earning a Master's in Educational Administration from Shenandoah University. She has been with Loudoun county for 17 years. She was a counselor at Heritage High School for 15 years before coming to Park View High School. She is excited to be at Park View High School as the Director of School Counseling. Ms. Brown looks forward to developing positive relationships with the staff, students and parents of Park View community.

Ms. Haneen Abuasi-Eqab
9th Grade Counselor A-L
Ms. Abuasi-Eqab is excited to be back at Park View for another year. This is her second year here at PV and 6th year as a counselor.
Ms. Abuasi-Eqab is originally from Brooklyn, NY and moved to Virginia 6 years ago. Before coming to Park View, she was an Elementary School Counselor. When not at Park View, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids who keep her busy. She loves spending time with friends and family, exploring new places and places to eat! She is looking forward to helping PVHS students reach their goals!

Ms. Vanessa Gonzalez
9th Grade M-Z
Ms. Gonzalez is originally from Los Angeles, California. She identifies as First-Generation Latina from a family of immigrants. Being the oldest and only one in her family to pursue a higher education has inspired her to continue breaking generational cycles. She earned her undergraduate degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Sociology and Psychology and her master’s degree from California Lutheran University in School Counseling. While going to college full time, she also worked full time as a College Advisor for college access programs to empower first generation students to attend college. She is starting her 3rd year as a School Counselor at Park View High School. Her favorite part about working with students is empowering them to share their story!
She also enjoys being outdoors, attending baseball games, and traveling.

Ms. Lyndsay (Wilkins) Barrera
10th Grade A-L
Mrs. Barrera, formally known as Mrs. Wilkins, is very excited to welcome the class of 2026 back to PVHS for a successful sophomore year! This is her 2nd year as a counselor at Park View.
In regard to her education, Mrs. Barrera is a first-generation college graduate. In 2021, she graduated from Marymount University’s bachelors program with a BA in Psychology and minor in Special Education. Additionally, Mrs. Barrera graduated from Marymount University’s masters program for School Counseling in 2023.
Although she is an Arkansas native, she has spent the past few years loving all the wonderful things the Sterling Park community has to offer. When not assisting students at Park View, Mrs. Barrera enjoys spending time in nature with her family and pups, traveling, and learning new skills. Most recently Ms. Barrera has taken up kayaking in the Potomac River and baking gluten free treats.
Mrs. Barrera is looking forward to connecting with students, families, teachers, and the community to help students have as many opportunities as possible to access the future they desire.

Ms. Kelley Ward
10th Grade M-Z
This is Mrs. Ward's seventh year at Park View High School! She's originally from Loudoun County and graduated from Broad Run High School in Ashburn. She attended Northern Virginia Community College after high school then transferred to George Mason University earning her B.A. in Psychology. She worked in early childhood education, and was a substitute teacher with LCPS before graduating from Liberty University with her M.Ed. In School Counseling in 2016. She currently lives in Leesburg with her husband and cat, Oscar! In her spare time she enjoys biking, hiking, interior decorating, and international travel. She's thrilled to be back at PVHS this year and looks forward to helping her students overcome academic and personal barriers. Please contact her at: Kelley.Ward@lcps.org

Ms. Tiffany (Weitzel) Matthews
11th Grade A-L
Mrs. Matthews is excited to welcome the class of 2025 back for another successful year at PVHS! This is her 3rd year as a counselor at Park View, but she has worked in education for over 10 years and taught Mathematics and Special Education at Park View prior to moving to the counseling office. Before coming to Park View, she worked at the middle school level as an educator and interned at a community counseling center in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Matthews is a graduate of Loudoun County Public Schools (alumnus of Potomac Falls HS) and also holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Christopher Newport University, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from George Washington University, and completed a licensure program in Special Education at George Mason University. When she’s not at Park View, Mrs. Matthews stays busy at home with her family. She plays softball, enjoys being active, loves watching baseball (really most sports!), listening to Taylor Swift, and spending time with friends and family. She looks forward to working together with students, teachers, and families to ensure a successful 4 years at Park View, helping students reach their fullest potential, and having fun along the way!

Ms. Jaimee Johnson
11th Grade M-Z
Ms. Johnson is super excited to join the Park View High School community and to be working with the class of Class of 2025! She is entering her 9th year in education with experience in teaching and counseling with a passion for helping students and their families reach academic and personal success.
Ms. Johnson is an alumnus of Howard University (BA in Political Science and Secondary Urban Education) and New York University (MA in School Counseling).
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, being a dog mom to her fur baby Onyx, reading, and staying up to date on her favorite podcasts and tv shows.

Ms. Yildiz Teber
12th Grade A-L
Ms. Teber is the senior counselor for last names A – L in this 2023 – 2024 academic year. She has been working in the educational field since 2006 and has lived in Texas, Georgia, and now in Virginia. Her goal in education is to engineer an educational and social framework that is designed for the highest academic results, self-confidence, and enduring strength of character utilizing innovative learning and development.
She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with my family. She has traveled to over 30 countries!
Ms. Teber is looking forward to meeting and working with her students!

Ms. Victoria (Baker) Vitullo
12th Grade M-Z
Ms. Victoria Vitullo is thrilled to come to Park View for the 2023-2024 school year! Ms. Vitullo has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the corporate world as well as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for state vocational services but her favorite counseling role to date has been at The Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf where she was Transition Coordinator for high schoolers. Ms. Vitullo has 3 young adult children, all in their 20’s and has guided them through their school experiences, through college and their work lives. She was the first person in her family to obtain a Master’s degree and is the daughter of Italian parents. Ms. Vitullo has enjoyed living all over America with her former US Army family. Ms. Vitullo attended Gallaudet University for her master’s degree in Counseling and is fluent in ASL as well as tactile sign language to be able to communicate with DeafBlind people. Ms. Vitullo is thrilled to be working with the students and professionals at Park View High School.Ms.Vitullo very much enjoys doing yoga, riding bicycles and hiking out in nature in her free time. She enjoys doing furniture refinishing and making new things out of old pieces. She volunteers with DeafBlind people and has a goal of having a non-profit to assist DeafBlind people secure service dogs. -

Ms. Zaria Cyrus
School Social Worker Grades 9 and 12
Ms. Cyrus was born and raised in Queens, New York. She is the oldest of 10 siblings and the first in her family to both attend and graduate from college. She is passionate about serving young adults and eliminating barriers to their success. Ms. Cyrus earned her undergraduate and master’s degree from George Mason University in Social Work. She exudes kindness, patience, compassion, and empathy. Ms. Cyrus enjoys empowering others and is excited for the 2023-2024 school year at Park View!

Ms. Cornejo is originally from Sterling Park. She is first generation in the United states being born from immigrant parents. Ms. Cornejo is passionate about giving back to her community. She earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia CommonWealth University earning a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a earned a Masters degree in Social Work from George Mason University. She is starting her 2nd year at Park View High School and Sterling Middle, and looking forward to another great year.

To make an appointment with your counselor, use E-hall pass to visit the counseling office and fill out an appointment request form. For general concerns, your counselor will send a pass for you during your next study hall so make sure to keep an eye on E-hall pass (and of course be in your assigned study hall!). If you have an urgent need to see your counselor, make sure to let Ms. Jones know and your counselor will attempt to meet with you as soon as possible. You may also email your counselor to request a meeting or ask a question. 😎
