Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Stephanie Cotterill

I'm excited about starting my 23rd year teaching as a new member of the Wolfpack and a LCPS employee. I spent 22 years of my career in WV teaching elementary and middle school. I've always loved teaching language arts to all levels of learners and spent the last 10 years teaching a remediation and intervention program. Before that, I spent many years teaching honors and academic English classes. I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in studio art but quickly realized my passion was teaching and working with students. I returned to WVU and received my master's degree and certification in education.

I grew up on a large beef and crop farm in West Virginia that has been in our family since the mid-1800's. Growing up, I couldn't wait to escape and travel the world. I've lived in numerous different states and travelled to many countries, but always found myself drawn back to the farm. My family consists of my husband (also a LCPS teacher), two daughters, and a dog. Our oldest daughter is studying environmental science at Brighton University, England and our youngest has just started high school. When I'm not working or spending time with my family, I like to travel, cook, read, and make pottery.
