Ms. Molthen

Julie Molthen is eager to begin her 4th year as an EL teacher at Moorefield Station Elementary. She has lived in Ashburn for 26 years with her husband and three children. Her son Reilly (25) is a firefighter for the Town of Leesburg. Matthew (23) graduated from James Madison University. Her daughter, Allison (22), is a graduate of Stone Bridge High School and is attending her last year at Virginia Tech.

Julie grew up in Vienna, Virginia, and graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and English. She began her teaching career 28 years ago in Atlanta, Georgia. After taking time to raise her children, she returned to teaching first and second grade at Belmont Station Elementary in Loudoun County. After 17 years, she received her EL endorsement and looks forward to her 20th year as an educator.

Julie is a Washington D.C. sports fan who enjoys long walks with her two dogs, gardening, reading on her patio, and spending time on the Eastern Shore. She looks forward to Hokie tailgates and more traveling opportunities as a recent “empty nester.”

As a life-long learner, Julie is enrolled in several courses to enhance her skills as an EL teacher and explore graduate programs in her field. She is looking forward to meeting her new students and families!
