Mrs. Neysa Chaves

Mrs. Neysa Chaves started her teaching career in 2001.  She knew she wanted to be a teacher from a very early age.  She just had no idea that she would be the greatest of all teachers - a Chemistry teacher!  Mrs. Chaves fell in love with Chemistry while she was in high school in Miami, FL, where she was born and raised.  She majored in Chemistry while in college at Florida International University, where she also was an active member of the American Chemical Society – Student Affiliates Chapter and became its president her senior year.  Being a member of the ACS-SA allowed her the opportunity to offer free tutoring to her peers and this experience cemented her decision to move forward with her career in education.  She has taught different levels of science and math in various school settings, from urban multi-cultural public schools, alternative public schools, charter schools and highly rated private Catholic schools.  She is more than thrilled to be a part of  the LHS family to share her knowledge and passion for education with her fellow Bolts!  One of her greatest achievements has been to not only be an educator, but to have raised one as well.
