Hi friends, family and most importantly, students! My name is Tammy Schwendeman and I am thrilled to be at Arcola this year. This will be my 10th year teaching, mostly spent in Fairfax County teaching 3rd and 5th grade. A recent move to Leesburg has brought me to this amazing school where I get to meet and spend my time with YOU! 

I have done a lot in my life, but the "highlights" will suffice for now! I grew up in Prince William County on a farm, so I love all animals. I played a lot of sports growing up and even softball in college. I joined the Army where I met my husband, Jeremy. We have been married for 21 years and have a daughter, Mattie, 18, who will be a sophomore at JMU. I have lived in Hawaii, Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana, North Carolina and Budapest, Hungary. My favorite thing to do is drink coffee while on our deck with my family, including our dog, Floyd, and cat, Grux.
