Mr. Eric Kursman
I have been an English teacher with Loudoun County Public Schools since 2009. As a graduate of the University of Michigan, I began my career at Blue Ridge Middle School where I have served in a number of roles, such as eighth grade team leader, Safe School Ambassadors facilitator, equity committee member, Appalacian Trail Conservancy "A Trail to Every Classroom" member, and many others. Outside of Blue Ridge, I have also worked as a drumline instructor for Loudoun Valley High School and created the Western Loudoun Drumline. I also attended George Mason University where I earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Teacher Leadership.
I strongly believe that reading and writing are the gateways to success in school and in life, which is why as an avid reader and writer, I strive to model good literary practices both in the classroom with my students and in my home with my children. Whether reading a challenging new book or journaling creative writing, I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm for reading and writing to my students!
