Mrs. Judy Schichl

Hello Panther Families,

The first question that I hear from most people is “How do you pronounce your last name?” To this I answer, “It’s like saying the word pickle, but with the sh sound in place of the p sound. Phonetically, my last name is spelled Shick-el. Now that we have that out of the way, let me tell you a little about myself.

I began my teaching career in Loudoun County in 1999. I have taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades at the elementary level, 6th grade science at the middle school level, and I am excited to begin teaching Biology at Potomac Falls. I have a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. Both of my degrees are from George Mason University. Go Patriots!

I am the youngest of 7 siblings and I was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I am a huge Eagles fan and also follow the Flyers when I am able to keep up with their crazy schedule. I currently live in Ashburn with my husband and 2 children. My son Eion will be starting his freshman year at Mason in the fall. My other child, Mars, will be a senior at Broad Run. They hope to attend either VCU or George Mason next year.

In my spare time I enjoy cycling with my husband, swimming, and walking to stay healthy and fit. I also enjoy reading, sewing, puzzles, and video games. When I am not involved in one of these many activities, I can be found supporting the Broad Run Marching Spartans or just hanging out with my family.

I look forward to teaching at Potomac Falls this year!
