Mr. Kristian Ellingsen

Hello!

A little about me: I have been teaching health and physical education since 2005, after I graduated from James Madison University (GO DUKES!) with a Masters in the Arts of Teaching. After teaching for two years at Westfield High School, in New Jersey, I moved to LCPS. I taught middle school at Mercer and Seneca Ridge for what totaled eleven years. While with LCPS, I fulfilled many roles at both the middle and high school levels. I came back to LCPS after teaching at Columbia Heights Education Campus, in Washington, DC, for five years. I enjoy contributing to the physical education content area by serving on various national councils, such as the SHAPE America Physical Activity Council and the newly created SHAPE America Employee Wellness Council. I have coached varsity baseball every year of my career and one year while in college. I also work with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards to support teachers in obtaining and maintaining their National Board Certification (NBCT).

To round out the bio: I grew up in New York, and currently live in Loudoun County. I am married, with a son going to LCPS schools, and a daughter who has some years left before she is school age. I have been working with PFHS since 2022, and I am ready for an exciting, positive year!
