Division of Research, Assessment, and School Improvement (RASI)

  • The Division of Research, Assessment, and School Improvement (RASI) is responsible for the planning, administration, and use of assessments of student learning; administration of data requests, surveys, and program evaluations; and support of the continuous improvement of school and division practices to meet the needs of all students in the School Division.

  • Research Office

The Research Office facilitates systematic inquiry to better inform decisions, advance teaching, and improve learning in Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS).

  • Assessment Services

The Office of Assessment Services is responsible for division-level training and oversight of the Virginia Assessment Program, the administration of the Cognitive Abilities Test, the ACCESS for ELLs language proficiency assessment, the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests, PSAT test administration and Advanced Placement (AP) test administration. We work collaboratively with the Research Office and School Improvement to provide assessment data and reports, as well as the Office of Special Education and the English Language Learners Program to ensure accurate and equitable assessment opportunities for all students.

  • School Improvement

School Improvement is the single most important business of the school. It is the process that schools use to ensure all students are achieving at high levels. “The combination of three concepts constitutes the foundation for positive improvement results: meaningful teamwork; clear, measurable goals; and the regular collection and analysis of performance data.”   For more information click here.

Federal Programs provide funds to meet criteria set forth by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  For more information about Federal Programs click here.
