Mrs. Sofia Curran
Mrs. Curran is from Huaraz, Peru. Mrs. Curran holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from University of Santiago De Antunez of Mayolo.
She worked in her native Peru as a Professor of Business Administration in the University of Santiago De Antunez of Mayolo, Professor of Hospitality Cenfotur Institute, as an Instructor of Business for USAID Care Peru and as a COFIDE coordinator for the City of Huaraz’s Chamber of Commerce. In the United States Mrs. Curran has worked for Private Montessori Schools and as a Spanish teacher in Private Bi-lingual schools as well as a Substitute Public School Teacher. Mrs. Curran successfully completed the Career Switcher Program in World Languages at Shenandoah University to bring her life experience in education into the classroom at Parkview High School. Mrs. Curran also serves as one of Park View's Translators / Interpreters.
Mrs. Curran had also volunteered with nonprofits advocating for Families and Children including SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), MADA (Mujeres artesanas de Alexandria or Women Artisans of Alexandria), CASA de Maryland, and Virginia Cooperative Extension’s Parenting Education Program. She has a passion for teaching children to better their lives and for the Spanish community. Mrs. Curran enjoys walking/hiking, writing poems, and has published a bilingual children’s book.
