I am super excited about starting my second year at Fredrick Douglass.  I love the community so much that I moved here.  I started teaching in a preschool setting in Arkansas.  I continued my education as my three children got older. I then did student teaching in kindergarten and 4th grade in Arkansas.  I soon moved to middle school and into special education. My husband's job once again moved us to Virginia.  I worked at Sterling Middle for three years as a special education teacher. I am now at Fredrick Douglas. Last year I was in first and fifth and this year I am in fifth grade. 

As I mentioned, my husband's job has moved us around. We have no plan on moving and Virginia will be our retirement home. My husband and I are both from Kansas.  We lived in Kansas, Utah, Arkansas, and Virginia. We have been married for 22 years and have four children ( Raven - 26, Hunter - 23 (Hope - daughter-law -23), and Bella - 20.  This will be our first year of being empty nesters as our youngest is going to Old Dominio, as a transfer.  Our children joke that we are not empty nesters because we have four dogs.
