Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Kristin Bredice

Welcome to an exciting new year at Frederick Douglass Elementary! I am looking forward to teaching fifth grade again at Frederick Douglass. I want to do my best to ensure that the students in our class have a positive and productive year. The sooner I get to know the students, the better. So, please feel free to reach out to let me know about concerns, likes, dislikes, fears and hopes for this upcoming year.

I have always loved school. I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Child Psychology. I received my Masters in Education from Marymount University. I began teaching in Fairfax County. This will be my 19th year teaching.

I have lived in Lucketts since 1995 and raised 4 children in Loudoun County. My oldest daughter works in Austin, Texas. My second daughter is attending nursing school. My son just graduated from Virginia Tech and will begin pilot school at Ft. Rucker, Alabama in September. And my youngest daughter is starting her 3rd year at Virginia Tech. So, I am an empty nester with just my two dogs and two cats. Mr. Bredice keeps me company too!

Once again, I am excited about our upcoming year together. My philosophy is to ignite a love of reading, inspire budding writers, motivate problem solving and thinking skills in math and science, as well as create an atmosphere of kindness and respect. Go Team Bredice! Please know that I am flexible and try to be a good communicator. Please feel free to email with any questions and/or concerns.  Email

I am looking forward to a productive and wonderful year with our 5th grade class.
