Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Pilar Carreno, and I am thrilled to be the fourth grade EL teacher at Frederick Douglass Elementary School. This is my third year in the galaxy. Before joining LCPS, I worked as an ESOL teacher in Prince William County and in my home country, Colombia.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish Teaching, a graduate certificate in bilingual education, and a master’s degree in TESOL. I am passionate about language acquisition and pedagogy, and truly enjoy working with multilingual learners and their families.
My goal is to collaborate with the fourth grade team, our students, and their families to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where all our students can succeed. We will have fun in this amazing process!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
I am looking forward to the new school year!
