Ms. Johnson

This is my second year teaching third grade at Hillside Elementary School. I am a recent graduate from James Madison University with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.  

My teaching philosophy promotes open communication and trust in the classroom by building upon student's ideas and experiences. Our class environment promotes creativity in all learning activities in order to encourage new ideas and methods of thinking. As a mentor, I will provide a safe space for each child/student to grow. 

Students will develop a passion for reading, enhance their writing skills, problem solve in mathematics, and learn diverse ways of thinking in social studies and in science. This year students will have multiple opportunities to connect their learning to the world around them.

I am very excited to work with your child as we dive into the third grade curriculum together.
