Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Kelly Baker
Hello Trailside students and families!
I am so excited to start my first year at Trailside! As the school social worker, I will be working with all grade levels and can’t wait to meet members of the pack!
I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with my bachelor’s in social work and psychology. I jumped right into grad school at George Mason University, where I received my Master’s of Social Work with a specialty in Children, Youth, and Families. My internships gave me the opportunity to work with kids in various school and community-based settings (in-person and virtually😊) and helped me realize that I wanted to pursue a career in the school setting! In my free time I enjoy going on runs/walks, reading books, spending time with family and friends, and drinking lots of coffee!!
I am passionate about working with students to help empower and strengthen their skills that support their own social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. I also know the importance of being mindful to the intersecting systems and factors that affect each student in their lives outside of school. With the craziness that has happened over the past year, and with the transition back to in-person learning, my goal is to be a resource and a link between the school, students, families, and community at Trailside.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns!!
