Ms. Kelly Baker

Hello Trailside students and families!

This is my second year here at Trailside and I am so excited to be back!!

My goal is to be a resource and a link between the school, students, families, and the community at Trailside. I work alongside teachers, counselors, and admin to fully support every student's academic, social, and emotional needs.  I am passionate about working with students to help empower and strengthen their skills that support their own social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. I also know the importance of being mindful of the intersecting systems and factors that affect each student in their lives outside of school.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with my bachelor’s in social work and psychology. I jumped right into grad school at George Mason University, where I received my Master’s of Social Work with a specialty in Children, Youth, and Families. My internships gave me the opportunity to work with kids in various school and community-based settings (in-person and virtually😊) and helped me realize that I wanted to pursue a career in the school setting! In my free time I enjoy going on runs/walks, reading books, spending time with family and friends, and drinking lots of coffee!!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns!!
