Virginia Tech - B.S. Electrical Engineering

Mr. Christopher Berger

The 2021-22 School Year will be my first year of teaching!  I am excited to be joining the Career and Technical Education Department at Rock Ridge HS.  I am a Career Switcher who has personal interests in gardening, cooking, exercising, reading, and watching sports.  My favorite part of any job is getting to meet and work with new people, so I’m excited to get to know my fellow teachers and students.  Whether teaching, coaching or mentoring, I love enabling the success of the person that I am supporting.  I am looking forward to teaching Personal Finance and Intro to Culinary Arts because they are both passions of mine.

 Bio:

I spent my childhood in Roanoke, VA where I graduated from Cave Spring High School in 1995.  After High School, I attended Virginia Tech from 1995-99 where I graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  Since graduating from VT, I have lived in Northern Virginia, been married for 21 years, and have three sons ages 17, 16, and 14 who attend Potomac Falls High School.  My professional career prior to teaching was in the Telecommunications Industry.  I began as a network operator where I learned the industry, then leveraged that knowledge to move into a Technical Sales Role at various Service Providers and Hardware Manufacturers.  In May 2021, I completed the Career Switcher program at Shenandoah University and became a teacher at Rock Ridge High School.
