Welcome to all the new and returning students! I am looking forward to working with the English language learner students, faculty and administration.
I love the language learning process and enjoy working with all English learners in their language development. I’ve taught English language learners in k-12 public school systems, community colleges and universities. I am from Long Island, New York, am a native English speaker, fluent in Spanish, proficient in Arabic and French and have studied basic Hindi and Russian. Since 2010, I’ve been on the consultant roster as English Language Specialist for the US State Department and since 2019 as Fulbright Specialist, both for advisory international projects in k-12 and higher education. I enjoy researching and writing about language acquisition, English learners, instruction and language learning.
I live in the Winchester, Virginia area with my husband and three sons. My hobbies are reading, learning languages, vegetable gardening, cooking and traveling.
Please contact me via email or phone if you have questions or concerns between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
