Ms. Pearrell

My name is Jamie Lafoon and I will be teaching 5th grade this year at Countryside Elementary School! This will be my second year teaching in Virginia. I previously spent two years teaching 4th grade in Texas. I am from Richmond, Virginia and I am so happy to be back in my home state! For a little bit about me, I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Geosciences, go Hokies!! I have a two year old corgi named Yoshi who you will see pictures of around my classroom. My favorite hobbies are hiking, traveling, snorkeling, crafting, gaming, and spending time with family. I have traveled to over 40 National Parks and over half of the United States. I am a big fan of doing anything and everything outdoors! Some of my favorite adventures have been hiking to the top of Mount Haleakala in Hawaii and snorkeling with sharks in Belize. My favorite sport is hockey and I absolutely love watching the Washington Capitals play live. I am a big DC sports fan and love attending all games! I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade again at Countryside this school year and cannot wait to meet all of my sweet kiddos! I will begin the school year on maternity leave, but will return to school in the later fall/winter months.
