Mrs. Hernandez

Hello everyone!

My name is Mrs. Hernandez, and I will be teaching third grade at Countryside this year! This is my third year teaching and second year at Countryside Elementary. I am so proud to be part of this amazing community!

A little bit about me: I was born in Salem, OR, but moved to State College, PA when I was 12. My family and I have called State College home for the last twelve years! I graduated from Clarion University in May of 2020, and taught in Frederick County before moving to the Loudoun Area last year! My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary, and we are proud parents to a very fluffy cat and very energetic dog! In my free time, I enjoy a good book, a good movie, or a good hike!

I believe that all students are learners, and that each individual personality is a valuable part of our classroom community. I believe all my learners to have great potential, and look forward to helping them reach their goals over the course of the year. I believe in the value of relationships as an integral part of our classroom community, and eagerly engage in strategies to help students build relationships with each other, and with me. I practice compassion with each child and always want to make sure students know they are in a safe space inside my classroom. I encourage students to develop executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and self regulation, but recognize that they need guidance along that path.
