Mrs. Shelby Miller

I am excited to be joining the pack for my first year at Trailside Middle School! After a brief detour into high school, I am returning to my favorite position as an 8th grade English teacher. Crazy, quirky, and challenging middle school students hold a special place in my heart, and I am delighted by this opportunity to create new face-to-face relationships!

I attended Shepherd University where I obtained my B.A. in  English Literature and Master's in Teaching: Secondary English. In my free time, I enjoy reading and performing at local theatres. In college, I performed with a Medieval and Renaissance drama troupe that traveled to perform period pieces to colleges and universities internationally. I also studied Mass Communication as a minor, which allowed me to participate in student films-- one of which was shown at an international festival in Durham, England. 

My family and I live in West Virginia and during the summer we enjoy traveling the East Coast: Manteo, NC is one of my favorite places. It is my goal to travel more internationally in upcoming years. 

I am looking forward to this new school year and whatever adventures are coming my way!
