Mr. Ertan KAYA

My name is Ertan KAYA and I am grateful to begin my 23rd year of teaching mathematics here at Trailside Middle School! I am originally from Istanbul / Turkey and earned my math teaching degree from Istanbul Marmara University, my first master degree from Istanbul University and my second master degree from Hampton University. I worked as a math teacher and dean of academics in Turkey, Oklahoma, Texas, Fairfax / VA and Chantilly / VA. I also worked at some colleges and universities as a math instructor. I have prepared students for national and international math Olympiads for 17 years and my students won more than two hundreds medals from different competitions.

I have experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II with Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus,AP Calculus AB/BC, Number Theory, College Algebra, Discrete Math, Statistics and competition level math courses.

Outside of the teaching, I'm learning Cyber Security, Data Science and Financial Math. I like fishing, playing volleyball and swimming.
