Ms. Wright
Hello!
I am Ms. Jordan Wright and this is my 3rd year of teaching here at Smart's Mill.
I graduated from James Madison University in 2020, where I was the assistant director of JMU's String Project, which taught 5-6 year olds how to play the violin. While there, I was part of many research projects, including topics such as string pedagogy, music technology, class room management, etc. I have presented my research at the state, national, and international level. Instead of going right into teaching, I decided to obtain a research focused Music Education Masters at University College London, where I have written over 20,000 words just to do with music education research!
If you couldn't tell, research is a very important part of my teaching philosophy! Therefore, I like to try new things in the classroom that are backed by the latest research. This means sometimes we will have a great fun time while other times may be a bit of a mess- but that's okay!!!
A bit about me is that I am originally from London, UK (Yes I have an accent). I have a cat named Phineas, who is super loud and affectionate. I have a dog named Merlin who loves to play fetch and cuddle on the couch. I love video games and playing DnD during my free time. I love traveling with my boyfriend and going on adventures to random places.
