I am thrilled to join Trailside Middle School for this 2021-2022 school year!  This will be my tenth year teaching.  Prior to Trailside, I was an English teacher at both Mercer and Willard Middle School in Loudoun County.  I went on to graduate school at George Mason where I earned an endorsement enabling me to focus on English Language Learners.  This will be my third year as an ELL teacher.  

I grew up in New Mexico, but I am an East Coast girl at heart.  I moved to Virginia after graduating from St. Mary's, Notre Dame in South Bend, IN where I received my B.A. in English Literature.  I have two amazing children, Michael and Elizabeth.  Elizabeth just graduated from the University of AL with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, and Michael is taking business classes at NOVA.  In addition, we have three dogs who are more like children than dogs to me.  When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my amazing family.  I enjoy staying active and working out.  This summer I read so many glorious books that I am eager to share with students!

An exceptional year of learning and growing begins soon, and I cannot wait to meet each and every one of my scholars.
