- Maurie Calloway - 8th Grade Dean
-
Welcome Pioneers to the 2021 - 2022 school year! My name is Ms. Calloway and I will be your 7th grade dean.
I grew up in Northern Virginia, and am a proud graduate of George Mason University, where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I earned Special Education Credentials from the State of Florida and later a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Capella University. Loudoun County has been my home for most of my life and the school system helped me evolve into the individual that I am today. This is my 18th year in education. I worked in Pasco County, Fairfax County, and now Loudoun County Public Schools.
Before becoming a dean at Sterling Middle School, I was a Specialized Instructional Facilitator of Reading, reading programs trainer, reading lead teacher, English teacher, special educator, and a student mentor. I enjoy sports, traveling, food, music, languages, cooking and I believe in the significance of relationships.
“No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship.” - Dr. James Comer
