    Welcome to Second Grade!

    I am Aileen Crispell, and I am thrilled to be returning to Moorefield Station to join the amazing second grade team! I have been in education for 28 years, teaching every grade from kindergarten to third grade, and serving for two years as a Specialized Instructional Facilitator of Math. My career has taken me from Arlington County, Virginia (3 years) to Fairfax County Public Schools (8 years) and finally to Loudoun County Public Schools for the past 17 years. I am as passionate about teaching children as I was when I entered my first classroom, and I can promise you an exciting journey in second grade. My philosophy is that learning occurs best when children feel safe to TRY. Our classroom will be a place where first graders understand that we all have areas of strength and other areas that we are not experts at ‘yet’. That growth mindset, along with developing resilience when mistakes happen, will be the underlying theme of all we do this year. I invite students and their families to commit to working with me to make this foundational year the best one ever!

    When I am not at work, you can find me at home with my husband in Ashburn, planning beach vacations or family dinners, reading everything I can, or attending movies or concerts. I can’t wait to meet you and begin our second grade journey TOGETHER!
