Mr. Strunk is very excited to be teaching sixth grade students at River Bend.  Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania (just outside of Philadelphia), Mr. Strunk attended Messiah University with a degree in history with social studies teaching certification.  Upon graduating, Mr. Strunk was a long-term substitute at the middle school he attended in Pennsylvania.  In July of 2016, Mr. Strunk got married and moved down to Virginia where he taught in a neighboring county for five years.  In 2019, Mr. Strunk completed his master's from American College of Education with a degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus in differentiated instruction. 

 Mr. Strunk and his wife have one son, who was just born in 2020, named Ezekiel, and have another son due in October 2023.  Mr. Strunk is a HUGE Star Wars fan.  In his free time, Mr. Strunk can be found spending time with his wife and son, trying new restaurants, reading, catching up on some of his favorite TV shows (Mandalorian, Flash, Masterchef), playing videogames, or rooting on his favorite sports team (Steelers and Penn State Football!).  

 Mr. Strunk loves working with students and desires for them to reach their maximum potential.  He is very excited about this school year!
