• WHAT IS CREDIT RECOVERY

Credit recovery is an option for a student to earn credit for a course needed for high school graduation. Students cannot earn Honors, DE or AP credit, but they can earn academic credit for courses in the same content area and academic level will be reflected on their transcript. Students will not receive a grade bump.

The number of courses a student can recover depends on how much work needs to be completed and how much time a student is willing to put into the class. Generally, we are recommending 2 courses or 3 at the very most. The student is working to move from an F to a passing D, and new work is not introduced. It is work that has been assigned that a student needs to demonstrate mastery of to earn credit.

Students need to bring Chromebooks with them to use during instruction.

    DATES

Courses will be offered during select times between June 22 and July 22.

This is just a suggested framework for when we would like to have students attend. If your student has a schedule conflict or cannot attend regularly, that is okay. We will work with you so your student can participate. Contact credit recovery counselor or principal (listed below) for assistance with flexible scheduling.

    FORMAT

We strongly encourage in-person learning at Potomac Falls; however, there are exceptions for virtual or concurrent. In the event a student does not attend in-person, they are expected to participate and make progress toward completion.

If your student will attend concurrently, there will be a Google Meet Link provided to those students.

Your student does not need to attend the entire time, but the more they attend, the sooner they will finish.

    REGISTRATION

If your student did not pass a course, they were pre-registered for credit recovery. Please log in to Parent Vue and confirm registration. If you are having difficulty with this, contact your student’s school counselor, the Credit Recovery School Counselor, or the Credit Recovery Principal, and we will help you with that.
