Sustainability in Loudoun County Public Schools
-
Loudoun County Public Schools has implemented sustainability initiatives for many years. Sustainability efforts are addressed in all LCPS departments and operations, in fact LCPS has earned awards and recognitions at the local, state, national and international levels. LCPS is a national leader in energy efficiency, conservation, and environmental stewardship. For the last eleven years LCPS has earned the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Sustained Excellence recognition. Sustained Excellence is reserved for ENERGY STAR partners demonstrating outstanding leadership year after year. In 2020, LCPS began advancing existing efforts with a focus on sustainability. Until now, sustainability organically evolved within each department. We are currently working to develop LCPS's Sustainability Strategy in an effort to provide a new perspective for implementing sustainability throughout the LCPS community.
