Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Hancock

  •  Hi, my name is Lori Hancock and I am a reading specialist here at Tolbert Elementary in the afternoons.  I spend my mornings at Rolling Ridge Elementary in Sterling.  This is my 22st year teaching, 13th as a reading specialist in Loudoun County.  For the 10 years prior to joining Tolbert, I was a reading specialist at Sterling Elementary. Previously I was a classroom teacher in grades K-2.
  •  I received my masters degree in Reading from the University of Virginia.  My bachelor’s degree is in Psychology and Elementary Education from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania.
  • I live in Ashburn with my husband, two children Andrew and Natalie.  This year we added a 100lb Golden Retriever.  Kobe is a smart, loveable, large ball of energy.  He loves to snuggle up with my son Andrew and read a book!
  • In my free time I enjoy reading and knitting. As a family, we enjoy camping and playing the game SORRY!   Every summer we love to go boogie boarding on the beach and eat lots of ice cream.  For vacation we often travel to NY and FL to visit family.
  • I am looking forward to another year working with the students and families of Tolbert Elementary.
  • Happy Reading!
