Ms. Alexis Chanel Glen

I am excited to begin the 10^th year of my teaching career as the STEP Teacher here, at Frederick Douglass Elementary School. I am originally a Syracuse, New York native, earning a B.S. in Elementary Education from SUNY Cortland and a M.A. in Literacy Education from New York University.  I am currently finishing my 9^th year of teaching, I started my career in Hampton, Virginia as a Reading Specialist.  Then, I moved overseas and served as the Head of Student Support Services (ESOL, Special Education, and Guidance).  Once I returned to the states, I became a 5^th grade teacher, and educational advocate for economically disadvantaged students.  This year, I want to build and strengthen the educational foundation for our littlest learners while opening their minds to the world around them.
