Hello! I am Mrs. McNear, and I will be teaching EL history for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I have a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University and a master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from The New School. This is my fourth year at Smart's Mill Middle School and my fourth year teaching in Loudoun County. I have taught ESL/EL classes for 11 years, and I love learning about and teaching history.

As an international relations major and an avid traveler, I love to learn about how our world is shaped by cultures and traditions from the past. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, running, and spending time with my family. I am so excited about working with you all this year, and I can't wait to get to know you better!
