• Welcome to first grade at Liberty Elementary School! My name is Miss Walsh and I am so excited for this year together!

I went to James Madison University where I earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Elementary Education in 2019. I attended JMU for graduate school as well and recently graduated this past May with a Master of Arts in Teaching.

I was fortunate enough to work at Liberty as a long-term substitute in Mrs. Schoenherr's fifth grade class last spring, while also completing student teaching for my Master's Degree. Over the years I have worked with students in a variety of age groups, ranging from preschool to fifth grade. My time at Liberty last spring also gave me the opportunity to gain experience teaching virtually when schools closed in March. I am so thankful to be back at Liberty this year to begin my teaching career!

I grew up in Loudoun County and graduated from Briar Woods High School. I am very excited to return to Loudoun as an educator!

I have an older brother who studied Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Virginia Tech. He has a beautiful golden retriever named Janie that my family adores.

When I am not teaching, I am usually exploring outdoors or hanging out with friends and family. I love to travel and was lucky enough to study abroad during the summer of 2018.

Some of my favorite things include Starbucks, Alpacas, Sloths, and shopping at Target or Amazon.
