Degrees and Certifications:
Hello Trailside Timberwolves! I hope you all had an excellent summer.
I am very happy to be joining "The Pack" this year! Although it will be my first year at Trailside, I am starting my ninth year working in LCPS. The last eight years I worked at Countryside Elementary in Sterling. Seven of those years I taught fourth grade and the other year I looped up with my class to be their fifth grade teacher. I had a great time teaching at the elementary level, but I am really looking forward to middle school now.
I graduated from the Multiple Abilities Program at the University of Alabama, which gave me a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am a huge Alabama football fan... Roll Tide! I have gone back to school recently to pursue another degree, this time from the University of Virginia. I am about halfway finished with their Administration and Supervision Program.
Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, cooking, watching sports, and spending time with my family. My wife is the school counselor at Rolling Ridge Elementary in Sterling. Our first child, Paul, was born this summer and he keeps us very busy!
I work very hard to form positive relationships with all of my students and each day I go out of my way to show them how much I care. We work hard in my classroom, but have a lot of fun at the same time. I believe every child can be succesful and it is an honor to be able to help your child in this process.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me through email at firstname.lastname@example.org or you may call the school and I will get back to you. I believe communication is vital to success. This school year is going to be so much fun! I can't wait for the first day and meeting all of my new students!
