Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Buckley
Happy new school year! I am excited to meet my Panther students for the new school year, 2020-2021!
I am a National Board Certified Teacher of Secondary English (EAYA-ELA) with a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from The George Washington University and a post-Graduate Degree Extension of Literature from Harvard University. Both complement and supplement my B.A. in English and Theology.
I love high school students and connecting with their creative possibilities! I work hard to create a classroom environment that celebrates each student while challenging them to learn new skills and wrestle with new ideas so that they can grow to become critical consumers of communication. My continual goal is to offer instructional opportunities that offer voice and choice to foster deeper learning experiences where students make more meaningful connections outside of themselves. I am an avid reader and can recommend books for pretty much every type of interest (and, I welcome recommendations in return!).
My working motto is: "communication solves all problems." So, please contact me as needed.
I look forward to having a fantastic year with you!
