Degrees and Certifications:
Hello friends! I am very happy to be back at Countryside Elementary! This is my first year working at Countryside, but it is not my first time in the community. My two children, who are now in high school and middle school, both attended Countryside. It was a bittersweet moment when the youngest left elementary school as we had so many wonderful memories. We are grateful to have met amazing teachers and staff and made many good friends throughout our time at Countryside. I truly enjoyed the years I spent volunteering, helping in classrooms, the library, and especially on field trips. I’m so excited that I am now a part of the Kindergarten team!
I was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1994 at the age of 15. I still speak Tagalog and Pangasinense, a Filipino dialect, fluently. I enjoy cooking and crafting, and I love to bake! I loved baking so much that I opened up a home-based bakery when my kids were younger. It was a perfect occupation for me at the time since I could do what I enjoyed and be with my kids at the same time. Now that my kids are older, I mostly bake as a hobby.
My husband, who is from Iowa, and I have been married for 19 years. Our eldest, Logan, is 14 and will be in high school this year. He loves tinkering with bikes as well as anything related to aviation. Izzie, our youngest, is 12 and will be in 7th grade. Just like me, she loves to craft and bake. Here’s a fun fact: Izzie was a Cougar Council President!
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, especially our kindergarten friends, and having a unique but wonderful school year! See you all soon!
